Increment borers are used to take core samples of trees or any other wood products. They are primarily used to determine growth rates, tree quality, age, and chemical penetration during wood treating.

All gauges are Teflon coated, which acts to reduce friction, protect against rust, and minimise resin build-up. All borers held in stock are three thread style.

Before ordering an increment borer, make sure you have selected the right length. If you want to sample a complete core, you need a minimum length of slightly more than half the tree diameter. Shorter borers should be used when only the outer core needs to be analysed. The standard diameter used by foresters is 5mm.
