ARD (Advanced Road Design)

meshAdvanced Road Design simplifies and automates the vertical design of roads, knuckles, intersections, cul-de-sac and roundabouts in AutoCAD Civil 3D®.
Its powerful features make it a great choice for users migrating from Land Desktop/Civil Design and a natural progression for users with some experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D®.
Advanced Road Design is based on a familiar template design process. The template and sub-grade editor replicates the functionality of subassemblies supplied with Civil 3D®. The editor is easy to learn, particularly for standard road design components typical of 95% of road jobs.

Road Design — View a selected cross section and watch it update as design changes are made. No more guessing about transitions and regions – just change the design and see the result.

Knuckles — The knuckle routine creates the knuckle alignment from basic parameters and generates the vertical geometry matching to the main road.

Cul-de-sacs — Create a wide range of cul-de-sacs. From the horizontal geometry, Advanced Road Design will create the vertical geometry, automatically matching the start and end meshlevels with the incoming road.

Intersections — Calculates all the required levels for the crossing road from your design. Creates the curb return alignments, profiles and design, with automatic matching of the levels at either end.

Roundabouts — Simply add the central circle to your intersection and Advanced Road Design will compute the corridors and the surface model for a subdivision roundabout.
