GPS or GNSS Base Station Setup for the Construction Job Site
GPS Reference Station Setup for the Construction Job Site

Construction contractors can now use a single conventional base station set up with any number of GPS-based Grade Control Systems or
Site Positioning Systems within a 20 km range.
Modular Design Means Flexible Set Up
The Trimble SPS751 and SPS851 Modular GPS Receivers combine the radio and GPS receiver in a single housing. This allows contractors to secure the majority of their investment inside a site trailer or carrying case, protected from the elements and theft, leaving only the antennas outside. The antennas can now be located clear of obstructions and provide maximum radio coverage on site.
The base station is typically installed at a fixed or semi-permanent location, such as the roof of the site office. It consists of a GPS receiver, GPS antenna, radio and radio antenna. These receivers are internet-enabled allowing for remote configuration and monitoring eliminating visits to the base station. They can provide corrections to cell phone enabled rovers also.
Trimble SPS751 and SPS851 Modular GPS Receivers are ideal for semi-permanent or permanent base station setups.
Robotic Total Station
Trimble SPS730 and SPS930 Universal Total Stations
The new Trimble® SPS730 and SPS930 Universal Total Stations were designed specifically for the high traffic scenarios typically found on a construction site. Exclusive Trimble MultiTrack technology locks on and tracks passive prisms for applications such as monitoring or control measurements, and active prism targets for dynamic measurements required for grade control applications.
Trimble pioneered this active tracking technology, which allows the operator to assign a unique target number to their earthmoving machine or site positioning rover, ensuring the instrument will always track the correct target. This unique Trimble technology ignores environmental obstructions and eliminates the possibility that the instrument would lock onto the wrong reflective surface such as a reflective vest or light cover on a vehicle. Motor graders and dozers can operate at faster speeds without fear of losing instrument lock. Trimble active tracking technology prevents costly delays and subsequent rework; faster machine speed means increased productivity and faster results to grade.
Fastest and Tightest Accuracy Total Stations on the Market
The Trimble SPS930 Universal Total Station is accurate to 1 arc second in the vertical and horizontal angles, making it ideal for fine grading operations where the accuracy tolerance is very tight.
The Trimble SPS730 Universal Total Station provides 3 arc second H accuracy and 2 arc second V accuracy, for contractors who want to take advantage of the same proven Trimble technology at a lower price point.
The Trimble SPS730 and SPS930 Universal Total Stations also lead the market with the fastest update rate available today. Featuring fixed, low latency, synchronized data and a 20 Hz update rate, the Trimble Universal Total Stations allow the user to reliably track the MT900 Machine Target and know the data is being passed from the instrument to the machine as quickly and accurately as possible. The motor grader or dozer operator can conduct real-time fine grading operations to millimeter accuracy while minimizing rework and increasing profits.
When combined with Trimble SCS900 Site Controller Software, the SPS730 and SPS930 Total Stations significantly increases accuracy, reliability and productivity for site measurement and stakeout operations.
CCS900 Grade Control System
Trimble CCS900 Compaction Control System

The Trimble® CCS900 Compaction Control System is the first satellite-based positioning solution to offer contractors the ability to compact surface material to a target density and check finished grade accuracy in the same process.
Using the advanced Trimble satellite-based positioning sensors and the powerful on-machine software of Trimble GCS900 Grade Control System version 10.7, it extends the Trimble 3D grade control family to include soil and sub-surface material compaction for tandem rollers and single smooth drum and padfoot rollers.
Compaction is critical to the earthworks process. Earthworks projects require that sub-surface material is compacted to a target density in order to achieve an increased durability, stability, and load-bearing capacity.
Contractors are required to provide detailed documentation that project specifications of target compaction levels have been met. Manual collection of random samples of compacted material is inefficient and not representative of material density levels of the entire project. Contractors now require advanced capability on the machine that collects and documents comprehensive, real-time compaction data. That information can later be analyzed in the office to generate detailed reports and documentation necessary to meet stringent project documentation deliverables.
The Trimble Compaction Control System provides continuous compaction control for contractors that require advanced compaction measurement capability, display and mapping of compaction measurements in real time, and on-machine documentation of compaction results.
GCS300 Grade Control System
GCS300 Grade Control SystemSingle Elevation
The GCS300 Grade Control System is an affordable, single control system that uses the LR410 laser receiver to control the machine blade lift. Designed primarily for use on dozers, but can be used on other machines, the GCS300 is very easy to set up, learn and use, and the CB420 Control Box provides access to a wide range of features. It's your ideal solution for smaller construction projects such as housing pads in smaller subdivisions and sports fields.
The GCS300 is an excellent first investment. Because it provides a low cost of entry into Grade Control Systems, the GCS300 is easily upgradeable as your needs grow. And for applications where there is no future need to upgrade to 3D, there is an option to purchase a lower-cost, non-upgradeable wiring harness.
Applications
- Small Housing Pads
- Small Building Sites
- Tennis Courts
- Finish Grading
